Subject: Oak Hill Area Car Burglars Identified
November 19, 2009
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
West Precinct detectives have identified the three persons responsible for a series of car burglaries in Oak Hill between November 8th and November 14th.
Arrest warrants will be sought against Jeremy Black, 21, of Edwards Avenue, and Michael Starks, 20, of Broadmoor Drive. Charges are also anticipated in Juvenile Court against a 17-year-old East Nashville boy.
Black and Starks have admitted that they, along with the teenager, drove to the Oak Hill neighborhood on several occasions during the overnight hours. The three would split up and go from driveway to driveway looking for unlocked cars that contained valuables. They sought only unlocked vehicles so as not to set off alarm systems. The suspects are believed responsible for auto burglaries at homes
· in the 800 block of Robertson Academy Road on November 9
· in the 900 block of Glendale Lane on November 9
· in the 800 block of Battery Lane on November 10

The suspects claim to have sold some of the stolen merchandise. Other items were recovered from the homes of Black and Starks.
Black is presently confined to the Williamson County Jail on a variety of charges. He was arrested by Brentwood Police as the result of a traffic stop on November 14th.
The police department strongly urges citizens to greatly decrease their chances of becoming a victim of auto burglary by removing valuables from vehicles and locking the doors in both home driveways and public parking lots.

Funeral Home Developer Withdraws Proposal - Meeting Cancelled
From Vice Mayor Austin McMullen's blog

I have just learned from District 25 Councilman Sean McGuire that the developer of the proposed funeral home at the corner of Lealand Lane and Battery Lane has withdrawn this proposal. I appreciate the feedback from numerous neighbors, including many in Oak Hill, which I believe played a part in the developer reconsidering this proposal. I also appreciate Councilman McGuire seeking input from neighbors and his involvement in this process. As a result of the developer withdrawing the proposal, the meeting that was scheduled for tonight at Glendale Baptist Church has now been cancelled.
