Bill, your wish is my command! Jimmy and I may both get to attend next Thursday, so hopefully we will be able to broach some questions before Junior shuts us down. I still want answers regarding who is paying for Helms' overnight hotel stays during his commute. After all, the new blog (Senior Alsups? Shriver?) accuses me of "nitpicking the budget" and I have a reputation to uphold!

Let me raise with you a rather serious issue that I just came across....that requires a city response next Thursday. It had always been my policy to prepare the upcoming fiscal year budget in late April......schedule it for two public hearings (one in May and one in June) and have it adopted by the Board of Commissioners in advance of the July 1st start date of the new fiscal year. Also included in this process was the publication of the proposed budget, generally in the Green Hills News. What is troubling is 1. Why is the first presentation of the budget scheduled for June 18th.....twelve days before the new fiscal year? 2. What happened to two hearings...which may be part of the City of Oak Hill budget ordinance, and 3. With all of the money that the City spends with Armour and Armour for the "latest news (nothing more than puffing Alsup/McMullen/Helms) why is the proposed budget not available for public review????
